The Technology Track


"Start-up" seed support: The Institute can serve as a support home for appropriate "start-up" ideas that have potential for applications with commercial value, establishing companies or developing inventions for patents. All areas of technology which involve a substantial computer science component are of interest. Advanced students and faculty members are encouraged to participate in this track.


To apply, please submit a detailed research proposal following the Guidelines for Submission of Project Proposals.

Support of up to $20,000 can be available for the initial phases of developing and testing. This may include matching funds for research assistants, programming, disclosure preparation, etc. Laboratory space may also be available.

Review Criteria

All applications are reviewed by the Caesarea Rothschild Institute Scientific Advisory Board. When necessary, applications are also evaluated by an appropriate external peer review group.


In the Technology track the reviewers will consider the following criteria:

  1. Innovativeness/significance of the project proposal.

  2. The significance of the Computer Science aspects of the proposal.

  3. Potential for applications with commercial value.

  4. Qualifications of the investigators.

  5. Appropriateness of the budget for the tasks proposed.
